Accessibility Statement

Benchmark Roofing and Construction wants this site to work for everyone who visits it — including people using a screen reader, navigating by keyboard only, or browsing with low vision. This page lays out what we've built toward that, where we still have work to do, and how to reach us if something isn't working for you.

Our Standard

We're building toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard most businesses use as a benchmark. We're not claiming to have fully met it on every page. It's an ongoing target we check our work against, not a box we checked once.

What We've Built

• A "skip to main content" link at the top of every page, so keyboard and screen-reader users can jump past the navigation menu.
• Header, main content, and footer are marked up as real HTML landmarks, not just visually styled sections.
• Visible keyboard focus outlines on links and buttons across the site.
• A responsive layout that reflows for phones and tablets rather than a fixed-width desktop design.
• Alt text on our photography — before-and-after project photos, team photos, and the images used across our service pages.

Where We Fall Short

We'd rather be straight with you than overstate this:

• Our estimate and contact forms are built and hosted by a third-party scheduling platform and embedded on our pages as an iframe. We don't control how that platform labels its own form fields, and we can't directly fix accessibility issues inside it. If that form gives you trouble, call us at (972) 231-0794 and we'll take your information over the phone instead — no form required.
• Our review widget and the embedded Google map on our Contact page are also built by outside companies. We didn't code them and can't modify their accessibility from our end.
• We haven't had someone who uses a screen reader daily test every page of this site start to finish. We've checked with keyboard navigation and automated tools, which catch a lot but not everything.
• This is not a claim of full or 100% compliance. Some pages, especially older resource articles, may still have gaps we haven't found yet.

No Accessibility Overlay

This site does not use an accessibility overlay widget — one of those icons that claims to fix a site's accessibility instantly with a single script. We looked into them and chose not to install one. Overlays sit on top of a site's existing code without actually changing it, and they can conflict with the screen readers and other assistive tools visitors already have set up the way they need them. We'd rather make real fixes in our own markup, even if that means doing it in pieces over time.
